Last weekend Pila decided to teach the kids how to build a pop bottle rocket. The kids all headed to the park (along with Pila's cousins husband and son) and shot off rockets. I came along after I got the baby settled and took pictures!! The rockets are just 2 liter pop bottles, a bike pump with the tip unscrewed, (then you put enough tape around the end so it fits snuggly into the opening of the pop bottle) and a "launching pad" You fill the pop bottle up about 1/3 with water, fit the end of the bike pump securely into the opening of the bottle, then place it on the launch pad. Start pumping the bike pump and after about 10 pumps the bottle shoots about 50 feet in the air and 100 ft out. (did i get the instructions right, Pila?) The kids LOVED it!! and are going to decorate their pop bottles and start having competitions. We are really lucky that we live right next to a park with a huge grassy field by it so we can try all these fun experiments!!
It was a little bit windy so Ofeina hung out in the stroller most of the time.
As soon as Mana saw that I was taking pictures he say down in front of me until I would take his picture, sorry about not turning it right side up, I tried:)
Meilani was a little bit jaundiced a few days after she got home so she has been laying in the sun getting a little sun tan!!
