Ever since we get married Pila and I have always said that when our kids turned 10 we would start sending them overseas so they could get to know their family in Tonga and New Zealand. Financially we were never sure how it would work out, we just knew that was our goal.
Ofeina went with Grandma Joyce a year or so ago, so she kind of knew what to expect but I was so nervous sending them both over there unaccompanied by an adult.

Here we are on our way to California to drop them off at the LA airport.
We stopped at the cutest little dinner called "Ruby's" it may just be our new favorite stop between AZ and CA:)
Lunch with our babies:)
Getting them checked in, we made sure to talk to the airline beforehand. Letting them know that the kids would be flying themselves, and they were amazing!! They walked with them right through security and put them in their seats on the plane. They didn't have to wait for anything or sit by themselves in the terminal. The airlines made it so easy for us/them and I will never hesitate to send them unaccompanied again because I know they are completely taken care of. (That doesn't mean Pila and I didn't worry and hold our breath the entire time they were in the air:))
We asked the airport worker to take our picture and he cut Izzy out of it. Poor Izzy!! Lol
And they're off....didn't even look back....probably a good thing because we may have all lost it
In their plane seats, waiting to take off. They had a layover in Fiji and then on the flight from Fiji to New Zealand they got bumped up to 1st class so the flight attendants could keep a better whey on them:)
