Mississippi

About a year and a half ago Pila went to a medical conference and heard about a job opportunity in Mississippi. He has been in contact with this company ever since and they have been in our top 3 ever since. We figured we needed to go out there and see how everything was. It was our first trip away from the kids, my first time flying without kids, and a was excited...at first. Then everytime we called them or facetimed them I cried. (to be honest we started missing them as soon as we got to the airport!!)

We went to Oxford Mississippi, which is an amazing place!! Very historic, green, and beautiful. We met with the owner of the clinic and some of the doctors, which coincidentally 2 out of the 3 of them came from Pila's same program, so he knew them very well. They were very hospitable, the job was in an area about 1 1/2 hours away, the need was there, the hospital was very nice to us. The job/area would have been perfect if we hadn't decided a few weeks prior that we would like to go to Richfield. If we didn't have our mind made up about 90% then we probably would have asked to sign a contract right then and there. There were a few things that we didn't like, obviously family was sooo far away, and we aren't planning to move again, so if it was a 3-5 year adventure we would have probably gone for it. We flew in and out of Memphis, on the way back we did a little sight seeing before we caught our plane home.

We got a standard rental car, but this was what they had available. after driving this "manly muscle car" Pila decided he might just have to have one someday. It was super nice, very powerful and I'm sure the boys would have LOVED it!!

All in all we had a great trip, and now have some major decisions to make!!
