This year for Spring Break Pila and I wanted to make sure the kids had a lot of fun. I was sewing pretty much from the time I woke up until dinner time trying to finish up our solo event, so we wanted to have some good quality family time in the evenings (Pila was on call at the hospital during the month of March so we had no choice but to stay home). Each night we tried to do something "fun".
Monday we went to Sonic for a delicious dollar cone (which really are my favorite) and then rented movies at Redbox.
Tuesday we had game night, Pila was in charge of refreshments, and was quite proud of what he found at Walmart.
Wednesday we went out to eat at IHOP. (Which was also a celebration at getting our PO complete....for some reason this event's PO was REALLY hard for me to focus on. Probably because I knew the kids were home just hanging out and watching electronics all day while I was sewing. It was also the second month in a row that we sold over 1000 items in our solo event)

Thursday we went to the outdoor mall over here for a little Wetzel Pretzel (which is one of the boys' favorites).
Friday we decided to take a little trip to California. All Meilani asked for for her birthday was to go to the beach and play in the sand. We had material in LA that we needed to pick up so we booked a hotel room for the weekend and headed out there after Pila got home from work. We got to the hotel late (around 11:30) and the next morning got up and all drove to LA together. I showed everybody around where I buy fabric. Ofeina, Izzy and I got out and did our shopping while the other kids and Pila drove around and explored downtown a little bit. From there we drove to the beach and even though it was a bit windy the kids and Pila had a great time in the freezing cold ocean, While Izzy and I hung out on the beach. I'm not a fan of cold water so I am very lucky that Pila doesn't mind the cold and is ready and willing to watch and play with the kids in the ocean. The kids are getting a lot more comfortable in the ocean, Misi had a bad experience one time and got knocked down by the waves, the last time we went to the beach he wouldn't go anywhere near the water and when he did he would visibly start shaking with fear. This time he was in the water playing and having a great time. Same for everybody else, we're quite proud of the progress our kids have made in regards to swimming and water safety.

After we had our fill of the beach we went back to the hotel and Pila swam with the kids in the hotel pool for a few hours. Mana mastered the art of the backflip underwater and Ofeina and Ami learned how to do a front flip underwater. Misi's still getting comfortable and Meilani is absolutely fearless in the water.
On our way home...it's crazy that we have a full car now!! The back was crammed full of material, and we had about 4-5 big rolls strapped to the top of the car. We had a wonderful weekend and are now planning our next weekend get away. We are very fortunate that LittleVMen is doing well and making it possible to spend more time as a family and make these memories while our kids still think it's fun to hang out with us:)
