California

The days after we came home from the hospital were a bit torturous. Along with all of the "recovery process" we had the 2nd purchase order due for our last Zulily event. Normally I would try to take it easy and stay laying down most of the time, but with a PO due and deadlines to meet that wasn't much of an option. I'm just lucky my mom was here to help me get things sewn and our orders sent out.
Izzy 3 days old...I'm afraid there will be an Izzy overload in the next few months:)
Not only was it hard that I had to sew so much after coming home from the hospital, all I really wanted to do was sit and hold this little guy. Luckily since I am nursing him I have a legitimate excuse to stop what I'm doing and cuddle him whenever he needs me:)
This is Izzy's first time fabric shopping with me. As I mentioned in previous posts, the weekend after Izzy was born we were planning on going to California to see Pila's cousin after he returned home from his mission in Honduras. We also needed to restock on a few things for LittleVMen, along with going fabric shopping. Izzy was only 5 days old when we went to LA. Throughout the whole California trip we made sure that my mom or I were the only ones that held him. With cold and flu season we couldn't be too careful.
Our kids have never been super comfortable in water....comfortable to the point that I didn't need to be watching them every second. While Izzy, my mom, and I were in LA, Pila had taken the older kids to the swimming pool for a few hours. They learned to float, swim, and he couldn't stop Mana and Meilani from jumping off the side of the pool over and over again. Pila's brother and his family had come to California from Utah and the kids were so excited to be able to spend some time with their cousins. It is such a relief to me, as a mom, that my kids are getting more comfortable in the water.
Over the weekend I think the kids spent a total of about 7-8 hours in this pool, and it was always just them and their cousins so they had plenty of room to swim and practice their new tricks. Ofeina taught Mana how to float on his back.
Meilani loved the water and she was really good about staying on the stairs or holding on to the side of the pool, not to mention there was a big kid by her all of the time.
As part of Pila's cousin's homecoming there was a dance, I didn't feel like dancing very much but Pila and everybody else danced a lot and had a great time. We also went to a family baptism, ate a lot of good food, visited with family a lot, and slept on the softest beds at the Marriott. We love California, and I think a little piece of us will always stay there:)

I can't believe you made it to CA so soon after the hospital!! You are amazing. I don't know how you mother 6 kids and do meals and laundry and homework, much less run such a busy sewing business!! I want to take a nap after reading about your life. :)
