Pila and I have been talking about sending our kids to New Zealand and Tonga for a visit, once they get to 6th grade, for our whole marriage. I just never realized how soon it would come!! Pila's little brother is getting married on November 8th and Pila really wanted Ofeina to go represent our family. Of course I was super nervous, but when I mentioned to my mom that she was going my mom thought it would only be fitting if she had "a grandmother's escort" :) that eased my mind soooo much!! Ofeina hasn't flown that far since we went to Tonga when she was around 3 years old. The day came all to soon and we had to divide and conquer, Pila taking her to the airport, then heading to work. I took the rest of the kids to Ami's basketball game. I'm not going to lie, there was a lot of tears shed...both from her and us. My mom flew from Provo to Phoenix so it worked out perfectly for her to meet up with Ofeina at the airport and then fly on to Los Angeles. From there they had a lay over in Hawaii, and finally made it to New Zealand. Ofeina has sent us a lot of pictures, so I will do a big post of her adventure....but until then we are counting down the days until our girl comes home:)
